Caribbean People
In spite of some of the differences that exist, Caribbean people can be considered as one. We share some common historical experiences such as slavery, colonisation, emancipation and independence. When we travel across the Region there are people that we can identify with. Africans, Europeans, Chinese, East Indians and people of mixed race. We all are the same. We understand each other through music and dance and join in celebrations. Reggae and Carnival are aspects of our culture that are popular throughout the Region and we like to show respect to athletes, political leaders and the creative works and talents of our neighbouring countries.
